About Us

The San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society is located in Bakersfield, California. We are a group of rock hounds dedicated to the sharing of knowledge about the lapidary arts. We meet weekly for workshops in lapidary, silversmith, and wire wrapping/beading. We were founded in 2005, and are incorporated as a 501 (c) 3. Part of our focus is education, and offer a program for area elementary school 4th and 6th graders that supplements their geology studies.

Joel Pomerene guest speaker April 26

Don't forget our General Meeting April 26 at 6:30 pm, Hall Ambulance community room located on 21st. Bakersfield.

We are honored to have as our speaker Joel Pomerene. Joel is a geologist and former member of our club. His talk on minerals is not to be missed.

There will be a silent auction held following the business meeting, and before our program begins.

Garden Fest booth was a big success. Thank you to the co-chairs and all who helped make this work. One of the big sellers was the ming trees.
