About Us

The San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society is located in Bakersfield, California. We are a group of rock hounds dedicated to the sharing of knowledge about the lapidary arts. We meet weekly for workshops in lapidary, silversmith, and wire wrapping/beading. We were founded in 2005, and are incorporated as a 501 (c) 3. Part of our focus is education, and offer a program for area elementary school 4th and 6th graders that supplements their geology studies.

New General Meeting Time and Place

We are growing, and we have a new meeting place for our General Meetings. We have been accepted by Hall Ambulance and will be meeting in their Community Room beginning in February. Date: February 23. Time: 6:30 pm (Set up at 6 pm). This gives us the ability to provide programs with speakers for our group, and the public. Hall Ambulance is located on 21 Street at O Street in Bakersfield.

Our Board of Directors will be meeting monthly on the Second
Saturday of the month, at the shop location.

We are getting ready for Garden Fest in April and will have some really great garden rock to sell!
