The San Joaquin Valley Lapidary Society is located in Bakersfield, California. We are a group of rock hounds dedicated to the sharing of knowledge about the lapidary arts. We meet weekly for workshops in lapidary, silversmith, and wire wrapping/beading. We were founded in 2005, and are incorporated as a 501 (c) 3. Part of our focus is education, and offer a program for area elementary school 4th and 6th graders that supplements their geology studies.

Clear Creek Trip
Pictures from our club trip to Clear Creek management area are from Bernie, Susan, and myself. The first picture shows where we were headed, (the mountain range in the distance with the light patches showing). We stopped along a creek and did a bit of gathering of rock. Next is a view from the mine site at the top of the hill. Some of us figured out that gravity was a good thing for moving rock down hill. Happy rockhounds at the mine, and finally a group picture before leaving.
